For the first time since the opening of the Express Entry stream – January 2015, a draw was conducted for the specific stream of the Federal Skilled Trades Class. For two and a half years, there was no sign of life for this stream, and last night it finally happened.
This stream allows immigration for people even if they do not hold an academic degree but are engaged in one of the technical fields that are under this list:
Major Group 72, industrial, electrical and construction trades,
Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades,
Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture and related production,
Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators,
Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks, and
Minor Group 633, butchers and bakerss.
This stream does not require a high level of English. However, in order to enter this stream, the candidate must have a Canadian qualification in one of the listed professions and/or have a job offer from a Canadian employer.
As has been said throughout the year, 2017 is undoubtedly a very positive year in terms of the ways in which permanent residency can be obtained in Canada.
