Provincial Nominee Program

Did you know? – Each province has a PNP track that allows immigration to Canada in several different ways.

The Provincial Nominee Program is not a single program, but rather various programs that share a common basis: the province’s selection of immigration candidates, a list of required occupations according to the local labor market in the province, and specific criteria tailored to the province’s requirements.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in Canada is a program that allows different provinces and territories in Canada to select immigration candidates based on their economic and demographic needs. The program is designed to encourage skilled immigrants to come to specific provinces and settle there.

Each of the provinces participating in the program has its own program with criteria it chooses. Moreover, each province can define target population groups for immigration, such as students, business people, skilled workers, and more.

Each Province and its Nominations

  • Ontario (ONTARIO): The province of Ontario focuses on finding skilled workers with high human capital and is open to sub-tracks related to professions in the healthcare field, students who have acquired higher education in the province, those with Canadian experience, and more. In the OINP track existing in the province, there is no need for a job offer to apply, and there is an annual quota.

  • Nova Scotia (NOVA SCOTIA): This province offers immigration for highly skilled workers, and recently, the province has also added the option of entry through the Express Entry track. The most popular track in this province for immigrants is NS DEMAND. In this track, there are annual quotas, and there is no need for a job offer to apply.

  • Saskatchewan (SASKATCHEWAN): This province offers three tracks for its nominee program: for skilled workers, for experienced workers, and for business entrepreneurs who wish to invest and manage a business or farm in the province (this category is called Entrepreneurship and Farm). The two most popular tracks in this province are called: SINP OID (Occupations in Demand) and SINP Express Entry. In this track, quotas open frequently, and applications are only available to those who have been identified as having a required profession in the province. There is no need for a job offer to apply through this track.

  • New Brunswick (New Brunswick): This province also seeks skilled workers and business people from various fields who can contribute to the province’s economy. As of today, there is a clear preference for French speakers in this province. The track requirements change from time to time, so it is advisable to follow them.

  • Prince Edward Island (PEI): The smallest province in Canada, where Canada essentially began, also seeks workers, business people, and entrepreneurs who can contribute to the local economy. This province also has a track for skilled workers in Express Entry.

Within this program, a friend or relative of the immigration applicant, who resides in the province, offers to support the immigration applicant throughout the transition process, finding employment, and integrating into the community.

  • Alberta (AIP): Is designed for people who want to live and work in Alberta, This program allows the province to attract immigrants who can contribute to the local economy. There are several ways in the program, including:
