Canadian citizenship

Canada, like its southern neighbor and in fact like the State of Israel, is a country of immigrants. This means that most of the country’s residents are immigrants or descendants of immigrants from other countries. The standard of living in Canada is considered high and provides good conditions that make it a desirable immigration destination. The Canadian government has set itself the goal of absorbing immigrants at a rate of 1% of the country’s population each year. Many law firms and service providers assist citizens in Israel and other countries around the world to go through the application and absorption process in Canada until they receive the coveted citizenship.

Canadian citizenship is a process in which a person receives the right to be a permanent resident and receive all the rights granted to a Canadian citizen, including the right to vote, work, and live in Canada. There are several ways to obtain Canadian citizenship:

  • Citizenship by birth: If you were born in Canada, you are automatically a Canadian citizen, unless your parents were diplomats or engaged in special functions.
  • Citizenship through naturalization: If you have been a permanent resident of Canada for at least 3 of the last 5 years, and your language is one of the two official languages (English or French), you can apply for Canadian citizenship. This process also includes a knowledge test about Canada and language proficiency.

These are some of the prominent advantages of Canadian citizenship

Tolerant and multicultural: Canada is a very quiet country and life there is peaceful and provides maximum comfort. Its developed democratic culture provides extensive individual freedoms, the broadest freedom of expression and promotes equality for every person regardless of race, religion, sex or ideological and political views. The country provides many opportunities for academics to develop personally and professionally, and professionals can enjoy some of the most advanced employment conditions in the world and all the benefits of working in developed trade unions. The vast and diverse immigrant population from all corners of the world, from the Far East, through Syria from which tens of thousands of refugees were absorbed, to Western Europe, creates a rich, colorful and diverse place that conducts dialogue with itself and with one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

Easy access to many countries: Canada is a signatory to the NAFTA agreement with the USA, Mexico and Chile, which allows free entry to these countries without border control or a visa for a period of six months. In addition, Canadian citizens can enjoy a US work visa much more easily than other applicants. Canadian citizens are allowed to enter without a visa for a period of three months to all countries that have signed the Schengen Agreement – including Iceland, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and 24 other countries. Also, Canada has agreements with many countries that allow its citizens to reside and work in them for a period of up to one year. These countries include Croatia, Japan, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Germany, England and many other countries.

For the sake of health: Canada has one of the best national insurance programs in the world and one of the most advanced health systems in the world and is almost completely subsidized. In fact, a third of the state budget is invested in public medicine and private medicine is prohibited by law in Canada. The vast majority of medical treatments are free of charge. Also, the advanced education system is heavily subsidized and there are government assistance allowances in amounts that can reach over 2,000 Canadian dollars per month and government savings accounts for accumulating tax-free savings. In this respect, Canada is a welfare paradise.

Citizenship from anywhere, for any time and for any generation:

You can enjoy all these benefits, keep your Canadian passport and the right to vote and be elected (regardless of whether you were born in Canada or not) regardless of other citizenships you receive, where you choose to reside for a period and these rights will be passed on to all our children and their children.
